Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker, who was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer, has reignited the rumours surrounding a potential switch to the Premier League club after speaking in an interview with Sport/Foot Magazine about the scenario.

The Belgian youngster was lined up as a potential solution to United’s defensive midfield issues in the summer but the club ultimately opted to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea instead.

As one of the more highly sought after young midfielders in world football it is somewhat surprising that Dendoncker didn’t leave Anderlecht in the summer, but a host of big clubs are still reportedly following his progress PSG are the latest team to express and interest in acquiring the youngster’s signature.

However the player this week voiced his thoughts on the matter, telling Sport/Foot: “When you play for Anderlecht and you have the chance to go there [Manchester United], you don’t hesitate.”

The deal didn’t materialise because the Manchester club were put off by Anderlecht’s £34m valuation of their midfield starlet, but with bags of talent and even more potential they could come to regret not picking Dendoncker up in the summer, especially if he goes on to succeed at a club like PSG.
