It was a heart-it-mouth moment for all football fans when the legendary Zlatan Ibrahimovic suffered a serious injury during the back end of last season, and the Swedish international has still not fully recovered from it.
With Manchester United having purchased Romelu Lukaku for big money in the summer, Zlatan’s place in the team upon his return looked threatened, and indeed he has made just five Premier League appearances during this campaign.
It is little surprise then that the striker is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, perhaps in search of one final challenge. LA Galaxy is the potential destination, and, according to the Sun, a deal has already been done.
Reports suggest that Ibrahimovic will join the MLS side once the season begins in March, leaving after just a season and a half at Manchester United. The forward bagged 17 league goals last season, and his quality has never been in doubt, despite his age.
The veteran goal scorer has won 11 league titles titles in Holland, Italy, Spain and France, and his move to the MLS will bring one of the true legends of the game to the American fans. Whether or not he will succeed however remains to be seen.
